Pastor Rachael shares about her own offering of time over the past years of church planting! From paying church costs, to working for free, to receiving a stipend, and now receiving a 1/3 time salary. Through risk and faith such a beautiful community has come to life! Consider your own offering of time, presence, and/or financial support.
What is Community of Hope?

We are a church made up of people that represent many identities gathering to do church in a Queer way! We formed during the pandemic and will continue to gather online indefinitely in order to provide a church home for people spread across the continent. We also meet in-person in the Bellingham area. Bellingham is in the Salish Sea Watershed on the traditional territory of the Coast Salish Peoples, in the Northwest corner of Washington State.

Member at Large

Jon Mark (he/them) grew up in Goshen, IN and is currently pastoring at First Mennonite Church of Reedley, CA. Jon received his MDiv at Duke Divinity School in 2019. Jon's call to ministry is rooted in peacemaking, creation care, LGBTQ liberation, mutual care, and striving to be a community living into the Kingdom of God (Matt 5-7). In other words, a mix of taking the Bible seriously and redeeming it from exploitative and judgmental interpretations. Hobbies include biking, board games, and spending time with their two dogs, Ruby and Sammy.
